GOAL
  • Want Versus Should Goals

If you are like most people, you often find yourself thinking about goals that fall into the category of "should" instead of "want". While it's easy to get excited about the "want" goals, it takes a lot more effort to get jazzed about should goals.

    want versus should

When selecting a goal, find one that you really want to do, one that you feel passionate about and one that is compelling to you. It may be one that you have thought a lot about, and one that has been on your "radar screen" for a while. You may have put it on a back burner in order to work on goals that you felt you should be pursuing. No matter how much time goes by, the thought of that goal just doesn't go away. It stays in your mind, bubbling up to your consciousness on a frequent basis.

When you select a goal that you really want to work on, you will feel energized to go after it. You won't need to rationalize why this is a good thing because in your heart, you know its right. And when you go after the goals that you are passionate about, you are far more likely to be successful in achieving that goal.

So, when selecting the goal that you are going to pursue, find one that you really want to do and one that you feel passionate about. That passion will serve to drive you forward and help you ultimately achieve your goal, no matter what obstacles may crop up.
