One of the comments we frequently hear from coaching clients is that "It's too late for me to start on my goal. I should have done this 10 years ago."
Wrong! It is never too late to start on an important goal, so don't put it off for another day. The sooner you start on this goal, the sooner you will accomplish it. There is a saying that "You will never be younger than you are today" and with this thought in mind it makes sense to start on your goal right away.
Julia Child didn't start learning to cook until she was 37 years old. Despite this, she became perhaps the most renowned chef in American history.
Sidney Sheldon didn't write his first novel until he was 52 years old. He had had a successful career as a television writer and producer before he turned to novel writing. Although starting "late" Sidney went on to write 19 novels, and his autobiography.
Perhaps one of the most famous "late starters" was Grandma Moses who did not start paining until she was 75 years old. Once she started, however, she was very prolific and churned out 1,600 paintings before her death at the age of 101.
Use these people as examples to motivate you to start on a goal that you may have been putting off, especially if you have not started because you believe it is too late to begin working on your goal. Remember, it is never too late to start on a goal!
